My Newest Drink Craze + Life Talk

I’ve been finding myself gravitating from coffee and opting more and more for hot tea this season. Yogi, Traditional Medicinal Teas, and Celestial Seasonings have been my go to drinks lately. Yogi’s Roasted Dandelion Spice and Celestial Teahouse’s Dirty Chai have been my wake up and get me through the work day teas. Celestial’s Sleepytime Sinus Soother is my all time favorite sleep/sick tea combo, but it’s been super hard to find at the store. I wish I remember where I picked it up, so I’ll probably just use my Amazon Prime to get it again. I’ve been super sick lately, so the Throat Coat with Lemon Echinacea has been a lifesaver for both me and Aaron. He’s really been digging the Breathe Easy, but I’m not a huge fan of the taste. Nighty Night gave me and Aaron both some SUPER strange dreams, but some of the most restful sleep we’ve had in a good while. Target brand Simply Balance’s Snoze & Snuggle, Yogi’s Honey Lavender Stress Relief, and Celestial’s Sleepytime Honey Vanilla Chamomile are perfect for just a hot tea to unwind before bed.

The sleep/relax teas have definitely helped me fall asleep easier and get more restful sleep. Now if it’s the tea itself, or the practice of doing some self-care and unwinding with something warm on my throat, who’s to say–but it gets the job done. Self-care is definitely my theme for 2017 so I plan on keeping up with this hot tea before bed deal even with the season change coming upon us.

What are your favorite cold weather drinks or tea blends? If you’ve tried any of these out before let me know what you think in the comment section below!

These past few weeks have been a whirlwind. Aaron and I both got hit with food poisoning, then I got my period, and then I got hit with some weird sinus infection/strep throat bug ALL in like three days. Oh, and my grad school apps were due in like two days. FUN TIMES. But ya girl powered through. After I submitted my DICAS (grad app for dietetics), that cold bug just hit me 10x harder. It took me a solid 30 minutes to just brush my teeth and wash my face. I was struggling. I think not having anything major to focus on after submitting DICAS forced me to just listen to my body and slow down. After lots of DayQuil, mucus relief, throat coat tea, and sleep, I’m feeling A LOT better.

LOL @ not having anything to focus on…because I’m suppose to be planning my wedding. It’s been ridiculously hard to plan anything wedding related though because I hadn’t been able to find a venue UNTIL NOW. Yes!! We finally found our venue–which means we f-i-n-a-l-l-y have an answer to the age old questions “when’s the date?”

Finding the venue has been a huge weight off our backs. We went out on Saturday to meet the owners and take a look around the grounds. Aaron said within 5 minutes of being there he knew it was the perfect place for us! Now we can focus on all the fun stuff like wedding colors, bridesmaids dresses, groomsmen wear, wedding DIY crafts, decorations, pictures, ahh! I’m so excited to get working on all the fun stuff.

Now time to sip my hot tea and work on my wedding website because we’re getting married in 205 days! Enjoy your Sunday.
